Dark Angel have returned with the spine-shattering Extinction Level Event, their first album of original material since 1991âs colossal Time Does Not Heal. Â

The single “Extinction Level Event” will debut on Liquid Metal with Jose Mangin April 10 and is scheduled for release April 11, 2025 via REVERSEDRECORDS.COM as well as all digital online platforms.
The title track âExtinction Level Eventâ was written by guitarist Jim Durkin a decade ago, long before he suffered from severe liver disease, and, to the surprise of everyone, passed away in 2023. âJim Durkin left us with this badass tune,â Hoglan says. âIt is so Dark Angel and I’m just so excited about it. We made it the lead-off song on the record, not as a tribute to Jim or because of sentimental reasons â like, here is the song that Jim left us â but because itâs just a totally killer song. He wrote it ten years ago, and by todayâs standards itâs still ball-crushing.âÂ
Fast and aggressive, âExtinction Level Eventâ is as fierce and infectious as Dark Angelâs best songs and features the bandâs heralded bombastic riffs and vocal structure.Â
